Administrative Officer – Temporary Position - The Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations

The Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York represents Norway at the United Nations and is located within walking distance of the UN headquarters in Manhattan. The Mission covers a broad set of areas in the UN such as development, peace and security, human rights, humanitarian and international law issues, elections, education, health, and climate. We share offices and administration with the Royal Norwegian Consulate General. The Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York is currently looking for an administrative officer starting as soon as possible. The job is a temporary position until 31 December 2026, with a possibility for renewal.
Main duties involve a diverse array of administrative and protocol tasks, including:
Official correspondence with UN and other officials
Facilitation personnel registration, VIP and other visits, including through the appropriate UN and US systems
Arranging meetings, including reservations of conference rooms, correspondence, logistics, welcome and catering etc.
Calendar management and support for senior management as needed

Qualifications:
Higher education at least at college level
International experience and background from multilateral work and knowledge of the United Nations is preferred
Very good English skills, both verbally and written
Knowledge of the Norwegian or a Scandinavian language is strongly preferred
Good knowledge of the use of IT tools (MS Office)
Sense of order, accuracy, and punctuality
Ability to cope under high work pressure
Ability to solve problems and challenges at hand, including the unexpected
Good service, communication, and collaborative skills as well as good administrative literacy

Additional information:
Regular working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. At times, you will be expected to work additional hours.

Conditions of employment: We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual vacation and partial coverage of health insurance.
Salary range: USD 6 000 - 7 000 per month depending on experience and qualifications.
